GLBA Privacy Notice

This GLBA Privacy Notice (“GLBA Notice”) applies to past and current customers of Ownwell, Inc.’s property tax assessment and property tax appeal services with respect to their use of the Services, and describes Ownwell’s practices with respect to personal information subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (“GLBA”).

This GLBA Notice is incorporated into and forms a part of our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, together with all other terms and policies linked or otherwise referenced within the Terms or our Privacy Policy. Note, however, that the term “nonpublic personal information”, as used in this GLBA Notice, has the definition provided in the GLBA. Nonpersonal personal information includes:

  1. Information provided by an individual to receive a financial product or service from Ownwell, or in a transaction involving our financial product(s) or service(s); or
  2. Information that we receive about an individual in connection with providing a financial product or service.

Please note: If you are (a) a new customer or (b) an existing customer receiving notice of our revisions to this GLBA Notice, we can begin sharing your information 30 days from the date we provide notice to you. How does Ownwell protect my nonpublic personal information?To protect your nonpublic personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
How does Ownwell collect my nonpublic personal information?

We collect your nonpublic personal information, for example, when you:

  1. open an account with our services;
  2. show your driver's license or provide us with your contact information; or
  3. use your credit or debit card to submit a payment in connection with our services.

We also collect your nonpublic personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

Definitions
AffiliatesCompanies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. Our affiliates include Ownwell Insurance Services LLC.
NonaffiliatesCompanies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. Nonaffiliates with which we share nonpublic personal information may include financial companies (such as insurance companies and insurance-related entities, which offer products and services through our affiliates) and non- financial companies such as service providers who maintain or service customer accounts for Ownwell.
Joint MarketingA formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. We have joint marketing agreements with companies that offer insurance-related products and services through our affiliate.

Other important information

  1. Unless you opt out of the information practices described in this GLBA Notice, we may continue to share your information as described in this notice even once you are no longer receiving our services.
  2. If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may be entitled to additional rights regarding your information.
